Shelley, Keats, Byron, Toru Dutt, Christ, Shankaracharya, Vivekananda, Chaitany Mahaprabhu and Netaji- all died at comparatively young age. Shelley was drowned when he was thirty years of age; Keats died of consumption at the age of 26 years, byron shuffled of his mortal coil at the age of 36 years. Jesus Christ was Crucified when he was hardly thirty years of age. Swami Vivekanand could not attain the age of forty before he bade good bye to this world.
All these gems left behind them idea and thought which have revolutionized the moral and spirituals lives of the people. The Greek conqueror, Alexander the great had attained world-wide fame before he died only at the age of thirty-two Emperor Shersha Suri ruled just for five years and still has the honour of being called the four-runner of Akbar, the Great. Sidney Keyes died prematurely at the age of twenty one, and still he carved out niche for himself in the field of modern poetry.
Achievements of all these men compel wonder. They all have left behind imperishable foot-prints on the sands of time. Theirs was a crowed life-a-life of achievements and therefore worth an age. The halo of their marvelous contribution to the cause of human progress is still visible in the horizon.
Their deeds have immortalized them. One should do something worthy of note and recognition. Tensing and Hillary have immortalized themselves because of their conquest of mount Everest. Neil Armstrong will ever be remembered for his leap on the moon-giant leap for mankind. S.Sheridan has rightly remarked. "A life spent worthily should be measured by deeds not years." High or low, we all would be judged by what we do.
Truly has Ben Jonson said:
"In small proportions we just beauties see;
And in short measures life may perfect be"
