Discipline

(1) Meaning of Discipline... Discipline means submissions to order or rules. Both our mind and body need discipline. Life whether individual or social, depends upon discipline.

(2) Importance of Discipline... Discipline must be enforced early in life. Discipline at home makes for the future greatness of a boy. It forms his character, and makes him a fit citizen. It teaches him to get up early and attend to his lessons properly. It also teaches him to take physical exercise and avoid bad things. "A disciplined child will be regular, punctual and well behaved. He will grow up to be a useful member of society. His later life will be governed by his early habits.

(3) Discipline in Every Walk of Life... Discipline is important in every walk of life. I n the army, for instance every one has to pass through very strict discipline. If a general does not obey orders. There is an end of discipline. If a soldier does not obey orders. There is an end of discipline. If a general does not follow instructions the army cannot do its work. A small police or a military force can not control a mob of thousands. The reason is that a mob is never disciplined. People in a mob cannot act unitedly.

SportsManShip

(1) Meaning of Sports manship... No word is abused than sportsman. Sometimes it is taken to mean a person who plays many games or one who is very thankful at some particular game. Both are wrong. Sportsmanship means the ability to play games in the proper spirit win or lose so as to earn esteem and respect.

(2) True sportsman... We need not say that a true sportsman will never use any unfair means or take advantage of an opponent. He will keep the rules of the game most scrupulously and will expect his opponent to do the same. His will be to see correct and keen struggle, with fair play on both sides. He takes the game quite seriously and does not like to see any half-hearted play.  He goes out for a win and pats all his energies in securing victory.

Duties of a Good Student

(1) A perfect student... I have a picture of an ideal student in my mind. He is a perfect student. An ideal student is one who obeys his parents at home an learns at the College. He respects elder. He loves the youngers. He does  not waste his time in idle talks. He is devoted to his studies. He always tries to increase his knowledge. He does not read novels or cheap books. He only reads those books which are good and useful. He reads books outside his course even.

(2) Regular... An ideal student is regular in his work. He attends his classes regularly. He is never late for his college. He does not miss his lectures. He tries to get more and more inside and outside the college.

(3) Industrious... He is industrious and hard working. He works till late at night. He never puts off till tomorrow what he can do today. He is regular in his work.

The Value of Games (Sports)

(1) A good Exercise... Games are very important for the young. They are good for us in a number of ways. When we play a games. We take a lot of exercise, For example, Cricket, Foot ball, Hockey, Tennis and Badminton etc, give us much exercise. Exercise is necessary for health. Games make us healthy. When we play a game, we breathe fresh air. We forget our worries for some time play as much as possible. Those persons who study for long hours or who sit  in offices should play a game in the evening.

(2) Pleasure... The games give us pleasure when we defeat the other party in game, we feel very happy. Even if we do not win, we are satisfied that we have played well. It is very pleasant to talk to others after the game is over. We have sweet sleep at night because of the exercise that we take while playing.

(3) Co-operation... Games teach us how to cooperate with others. When two teams play a game each tries to do better than the other. The members of a team play together in a spirit of friendship. They help each other and cooperate in the best way they can.

My First Day in College

I was admitted to the Government College of my city after I passed the Matriculation examination. I had some very strange experience on the first day i attended it

(1) Went to College... It was a summer morning when i went to attend college for the first time. the sky was cloudy and the weather was fine. I went to the college on my bicycle in a very happy mood.

(2) Students at the gate... As I entered the college I found some students standing near the gate. They smiled to me and I felt that they wanted to talk to me. I also wanted to know where I could see the time table of the college. So i went to the boys and asked them to tell me about the time table. They boys laughed loudly and replied that they would show it.

(3) Took me with Them... the boys asked me to go with them to the notice board. I started with them. They began walking faster I also had walk fast. They asked me to run with them. Now i was running with them. Soon I was tired and wanted to rest. All at once one of the boy pushed me from behind and asked me to keep running. The boys took me to notice board after wards. They went away shouting "First Year fools".

Pakistan and Her Neighbours

Pakistan is an Asain country. It has some countries as her neighbours. Her nearest neighbours are Iran. Afganistan ,China, and India.

(1) Iran... Iran is a Muslim Country. She is a great friend of Pakistan. The people of iran and pakistan love each other. irains are always ready  to help us in any difficalty. When India attacked Pakistan in 1965, they supported us in every way. They helped us so much, So Pakistan and iran are sister countries, We buy much iranian oil,

(2) Afghanistan... Afghanistan is also a muslim country, Now Afghanistan and Pakistan have better relation then before, pakistan are always happy to help Afghans, Many goods for Afghanistan reach Karachi, Then these goods are sent to Afghanistan throught our road, We buy fruit of Afghanistan in great quantities.

(3) China... China is great Asian or world  power Pakistan has friendly relations with her. Pakistan and China are always ready to help each other. Pakistan has often supported China at the United Nations. She has also tried much helps to China in becoming member of the United Nation Organization. China supported us in the Kashmir dispute with India. She supported us when India attacked Pakistan in 1965 and in 1971. We have some trade agreements with China. We buy machinery from China. We hope that the friendship between Pakistan and China will grow.

(4) India... India is our next door nighbour. We do not have good relations with her. India has occupied Kashmir against with wishes of Kashmiris. Pakistan wants to settle the Kashmir problem with India in a democratic way. We want plebiscite whether they want to join Pakistan or not. We can become India's friend if she properly settle her disputes with Pakistan .

Pakistan has diplomatic relations with all neighbours. Pakistan wants to live in peace with them. But she cannot allow a neighbour like India to do injustice to her by the use of force.

The Unity of Muslim Countries

The Muslim countries are faced with so any problems. They are surrounded with enemies. They should unite to become strong and face the challenge.

(1) Israel... In Middle East Israel is an enemy not only of the Arabs but the Muslims as a whole. if all the Arab countries unite, they can face the danger of Israel properly. In 1967, Israel attacked Syria, Jordan and Egypt and occupied their territories. It has not vacated the territory of Syria and Jordan as yet. In 1982 Israel attacked Libnan and killed thousands of Muslims. Now Israel is not taking her forces out of Libnan.

(2) Attitude of Western countries... Western countries support Israel and provide arms and ammunition. It has become a big military power. No single Arab country can face Israel. If all the Arab countries unite and take action against Israel, they can succeed. The unity of the Muslims is the call of the day. The Arabs should try unite with other Muslims countries of the world.

My Idea of A Perfect College

All colleges have some faults. I want to have a very perfect college. Here, I describe this ideal college.

(1)Proper building... First of all, an ideal college is one which has a proper building. It has a sufficient number of rooms where students can sit and study at ease. There are all the facilities in the room which students need for example, good chairs and desk. There are electric fans in all the rooms for use in summer.

(2) Number of Students... An ideal college admits only as many students as can well. If a large number of students are admitted more rooms for them are constructed. New teacher are employed by the college and classes are held in two shifts, in morning as well as in the evening. The classes in an ideal college are not over crowded.

(3) Best Teacher...  An ideal college is one where the best teacher work. The teacher also go on improving their knowledge. In an ideal college, the teacher and Principal are very kind to the students. They treat the students with love. They try to know about the difficulties. They may be facing in any way. Then they try to remove them. They punish the students only when they think it is necessary.

(4) Library... The library in an ideal college has all the books which may be useful for the students. It has good reading facilities for them.

Women Place In Our Society

(1) Demand for Equality....  What is the place of women in our society, is one of the important question. In every walk of life our women too have demanded equal rights. They want equal seats in Assemblies, equal number of posts in the government service, equal chances of freedom and movements in society and equal rights in domestic life. Modern women shun the responsibilities  of motherhood and prefer to work in schools, hospitals, and offices. Thus the eastern concept of womanhood has been completely shattered.

(2) Human Psychology....  If viewed in the light of human psychology, this trend concerning the place of woman in our society look rather one sided. Members of both the sexes have their particular field of work. Women have been created with special bodily frame which men do not possess, and therefore , their duties too are considerably different from those of men. Women have been created to perform the difficult, delicate and more important duty of bringing up children. If a woman wants the duties of a man, she is guilty of double crime, firstly, by ignoring her job in the house, she is trying to escape from her duties as a mother, and secondly, by stepping into the field of man's duties. She is trying to do a job for which she is not physically fit. We have the example of Chinese women before us. In the last Sino-Japanese was China raised a battalion of women but soon it proved to be a foolish experiment.

What I Think Of Examination

Students are often afraid of examinations. They are afraid for different reasons.

(1) Difficult....  First of all, they think that examinations are very difficult. They fear that they may not be able to answer most of the questions in their examinations and might fail. But it often happens. that a student in the examination hall finds his papers to be quite easy, Examinations are quite easy for a students, who studies his books at least for some time every day.

(2) Means to test the ability....  Examinations are a good means to test the ability of the student. It is through the answer, which he gives in his examinations that we may learn about his real ability. The preparation for an examination makes him able.

(3) Two systems of Examination....  There are two systems of examinations. In one system we have the annual examinations. Students take this examinations after reading the courses for one full year.Students find this to be quite difficult. But it helps them in having a full understanding of their books or courses. The other examination system or the semester system is that of sessional tests. There are test in classes after every month, or every second or third month. The marks that a student gets these tests are added up. There is then no need for the annual examinations so much. this system is easy for students. But often they cannot have a good understanding of their whole course.

Travelling As A Part Of Education

(1) Travelling In Olden Days....  Travelling has always been regarded as a part of young one's education. In olden days. It was a tradition in Europe that after completing their academic career young me of high families were sent abroad to get training in practical life.

(2) First-Hand Knowledge....  Travelling gives us first-hand knowledge which books cannot provide, "Books are mighty bloodless substitute for life says Stevenson, "But while travelling abroad. One gets accustomed to bear hardships.

(3) Lesson of Self-dependence....  A traveler learns the lesson of self-dependence and self confidence. travelling gives an excellent training for building one's character.

(4) Understanding....  Travelling also brings about an understanding between different nations and links them together in close cultural relations. Our world has become one big family on account of the ease and speed provided to us by new means of travel. Good will missions of one country visit another country. In recent years many such missions have come to Pakistan from various Countries of the world and the results are very encouraging.

(5) Test of one's strength of character....  Travelling also serves as a true test for one's strength of character. Our love for good and dislike against the evil depend largely on public praise and blame. At home there is a check of elders and either out of their fear pr due to social checks. We regulate our conduct in accordance with the rules of decency. These checks are absent in a foreign land. Where no one knows us. Thus it we can show fellow-feeling, courage, generosity and goodness while travelling among strangers, it means that we really have a strong character.

Village Life Or Life in Pakistan Village

(1) Pakistani Village is very interesting....  Life in a Pakistani village is very interesting, as compared to the noise in towns. There is little activity in our villages. The first thing that strikes a visitor to a village is the crowd of house. Most of them are mud-built. There is no mettled roads in our villages. Ordinary lanes serve as roads. Village paths are usually full of dust. The most important center of interest in a village in the village well. Usually the womenfolk of the village carry water in the pitchers. They sit besides the well and talk for hours together. There are also some shops in every village. In many cases these shops are quite lively. All the day long the idlers of the village keep sitting there, chatting laughing and smoking. Usually there is a small primary school in every village. It has only one teacher.

(2) The Villagers Lead Simple and Hard Lives....  Our villagers lead a simple and hard lives. They are honest, innocent and homely. They dress themselves in simple cloths. Their women too wear coarse and rough cloths.

(3) Agriculture....  The main profession in our village is agriculture. Our farmers get up early in the morning and go to work in their fields. Every farmer ploughs his land till about one o'clock at noon. When his wife brings for him his lunch. after taking his simple food the village farmer lies down under the shade of the tree and takes some rest. After a short while, he gets up and again works till sunset. Our villagers are known for their hospitality towards visitors and strangers.

(4) Disputes of the villagers....  Usually our villagers live in a friendly way. Their disputes are mostly about women and land. It is very amusing to watch a village's quarrel. He can quarrel about anything. He quarrels about the right to water his fields and his right to check other people's animals from entering his barns.

The Most Unforgettable Incident of My Life

(1) A Thief In My House....  My wife said, "Bokhari there is a thief in the adjoining room. I stood up and saw towards the room. My wife advised me not to rise hue and cry. I acted upon her advice. I kept silent. I took courage and decided to do something. The wind was blowing outside. It was making the scene horrible. The room in which the thief was doing something was locked. His death had brought him in my house. I was puzzled to think how the thief entered the room. My intelligence remarked. "thieves are clever".

(2) I Called My Neighbours....  I thought what should i do to bring the thief out. An idea came to my mind. The thieves are strong man. They are armed. I should take the help of my neighbours. A friend in need is a friend indeed and so is a neighbour. I decided to call my neighbours for help. I told this to my wife. I asked her not let the thief escape in my absence. I went out. I knocked at the door of my neighbours. I brought four neighbours with me . All were armed.

(3) Besieged The Room....  We besieged the room. We began to talk loudly so that the thief might not think that I was alone. My wife was cursing the thief. A scratching sound was heard in the room. There was a pindrop silence. I said, "he is trying to escape from the window", We waited and waited; the thief did not come out. How could he do so. The room was locked. It took us hours but of no use.

A Cricket Match

(1) An interesting match.... We spent last Sunday in the Peshawar stadium watching a very interesting one day cricket match. It was played between the teams of Local Islamia College and the Government College. Both the teams were quite strong and match was very interesting.

(2) Start of the match....  The match started at 9.00 a.m. but the spectators had reached the play ground early in the morning. We were astonished to see such a huge crowd. The captains of the teams arrived in the ground only ten minutes before the fixed time. They inspected the pitch and then the players of both the teams were introduced to the umpires.

(3) Islamia College Team started batting....  The game started exactly at 9.00 a.m. The Government college. Team had to field. While the Islamic College Team was batting. The game became thrilling from the very start. The first wicket fell after two overs and Rashid was out for only seven runs. Now Jamshaid and Tariq started to play. They played very carefully and increased the score slowly but steadily. As last a about 10.30 a.m. Tariq was out and Azhar took his place. The game became still more interesting when Azhar hit two fours. People clapped their hands with joy and the students of two colleges encouraged their players by raising interesting slogans. The Islamia College  team scored 150 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.

A good neighbour makes life worth living our happiness and sorrows. Last Saturday, we shifted our residence to a new civil colony. But i am very lucky that we have very humble neighbour near at my home. My right door neighbour  is a business man.

He has large family. His son is a university student. He is a very intelligent boy. He often tells me very interesting stories about his university. His father is also very gentle.
